Birth
1900 Census and WWI draft registration reports birth date as Feb 1880. Later records report birth year to be 1879, but the earlier records seem most reliable, especially the 1880 Census (dated June 1), which reports him to be four months old. There is also some question as to whether he was born in Bay Settlement, Wisconsin or Menominee County, Michigan, but the 1880 Census does report that he, unlike his siblings, had been born in Michigan. Again, this was recorded when he was just four months old, so it seems the most reliable.Census (family)
