Enumerated with this family were Joseph Bush, a barber, age 33; his wife, Anna A. Bush, age 32; and children, John J. Bush, age 9; Ellen E. Bush, age 8; Shirley A. Bush, age 7; and Joseph J. Bush, age 5.For some reason, this census states that Joseph's mother was born "at sea." All of the other information matches reasonably well (including the common misconception among the children of Joseph, Sr. that he was born in Wisconsin). As for how they ended up in Lincoln Park, Joseph's brother, Louis Bush, was living in the same enumeration district. I think the "at sea" reference was a case of the enumerator misunderstanding. Perhaps the informant was saying "Let's see". ;-)
