Marie Geneviève Joseph GRENON

This woman is a bit of a puzzle. Tanguay states that she was married to Isidore Cottes, who died on 6 June 1769, after which she married Joseph Robida on 15 Nov 1769 at Baie-du-Febvre. The actual records conflict with this picture. Marie Joseph Grenon (at least, that`s the name given on her marriage record), daughter of Jean François Grenon and Marie Louise Croteau, married Joseph Robida on 15 Nov 1759, not 1769, after which they immediately began turning out children. There are then records of two more children being born to Isidore Cöté (Cottes) and Marie Joseph Grenon, on 8 Dec 1759 and on 23 July 1762. The first could have been a normal posthumous birth if his father had died in June of 1759, not 1769 -- but the second obviously could not. Furthermore, there is indeed a burial record for Isidore Cottes on 6 June 1769. The only conclusion possible is that there were two women named Marie Joseph Grenon, and both daughters of the same parents! Both marriage records list Jean François Grenon and Marie Louise Croteau as parents of the bride, but it`s clear that Marie Joseph could not have been married to, and bearing children with, both men at once! Also, the marriage record of a widow almost always lists her previous husband, and rarely does it list her parents. The marriage record of Marie Joseph Grenon to Joseph Robida lists her parents, but does not mention Isidore Cöté. Again, I must conclude that they were two separate women -- sisters with the same name.
On further research: So far, I`ve found that the baptismal records of the children name the mother as Genevieve Grenon, not Marie Joseph Grenon. This obviously suggests that the name on the marriage record was incorrect, and indeed, there was a daughter named Genevieve born to Jean François Grenon and Louise Croteau. Unfortunately, this raises new questions, as this Geneviève Grenon married René Simons at Saint-Antoine-de-Tilly on 16 Feb 1756!
On further research: So far, I`ve found that the baptismal records of the children name the mother as Genevieve Grenon, not Marie Joseph Grenon. This obviously suggests that the name on the marriage record was incorrect, and indeed, there was a daughter named Genevieve born to Jean François Grenon and Louise Croteau. Unfortunately, this raises new questions, as this Geneviève Grenon married René Simons at Saint-Antoine-de-Tilly on 16 Feb 1756!
