Jacques Nason dit Ritchot was an anglo american captive. His father, Richard Nason, was killed in a raid in 1687. His mother, Shuah Colcord remarried to John Douglas. He was taken during a raid over Sturgeon Creek (Maine) by French militiamen and Abenaki indians in October 1690. He was taken to the Abenaki mission of St.François de Sales, and was put in a the Crevier family by le Sieur de Rouville. He was baptised January 6, 1691 « Jacques Ridechot, English, son of Ridechot... [Naxxons] and Suzanne Calquet. » On September 23, 1703 Jacques Ridechot, « English, raised in his childhood among the French », was married in St.François-du-Lac to Elisabeth Dubois dit Brisebois. In May 1710, Jacques Neison, « living in St.François, married to a French woman with whom he has children », was naturalized French. sources : Roger W. Most accounts I have read state that Richard Sr was killed in the same raid in which his son was taken captive, although the above account is certainly well-sourced.
