Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in New Covenant Church with the Rev. Jimmy Low, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Muleshoe Memorial Park Cemetery by Ellis Funeral Home. Mrs. Hughes was born in Guthrie, Okla., and moved to Muleshoe in 1985 from Mexia. She was a homemaker and a member of New Covenant Church of Muleshoe.

She married James Darden Hughes in 1936 at Skellytown. He died in 1989. Survivors include a son, Home Lee Hughes of Springfield, Va.; a daughter, Lynda Low of Muleshoe; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. The family requests memorials be to Runningwater Draw Care Center, 900 W. 12th, Olton, Texas 79064.
