Fred Wiley Hatcher

Posted at findagrave.com: Fred Wiley Hatcher, 92, of the Reidland Community for 46 years, and formerly of Memphis, TN, passed away on Monday, December 5, 2016 at the Ray & Kay Eckstein Hospice Care Center. He was born on November 16, 1924 in Greenfield, TN to Fred Michael Hatcher and Florence Young Hatcher. Fred was a World War II United States Army Veteran, member of Masonic Lodge 917, and member of Reidland United Methodist Church. He retired from ICG Railroad in 1985 having worked as a railroad Special Agent then as a Freight Claims Agent for a total of 34 years, having never missed a day of work for illness. After retiring he worked for Park Avenue Inc for 13 years. Following his second retirement, he assisted his grandson, Tyler, with his lawn mowing business.
During his lifetime he pursued an active lifestyle spending time outdoors golfing, fishing, hunting, and bike riding. He made it a point to exercise daily.
He is survived by his four daughters, Deborah Hines and companion Stevin Lewis of Waverly, TN, Pamela Holt and husband Robert of Shreveport, LA, Charlotte Moore and husband Robert of Hampton, VA, Cheri Cunningham and husband Adam of Paducah, KY; two sons, Michael Patterson of Memphis, TN, Allan Patterson and wife Jackie of Paducah, KY; one brother, Bill Hatcher of Greenfield, TN; 15 grandchildren: Heather Coates, Stacey Brown, Joshua Lawrence, Devin Holt, Robert Moore, Michael Moore, Tyler, Alissa, Caitlyn, and Cooper Cunningham, Clare Patterson, Addie Pullium, Carrie Mink, Lizzy McGlothlin, Keely Harris; 12 great grandchildren: Caleb Coates, Madelyn Coates, Eleanora Lawrence, Andrew Lawrence, Madeline, Andrew and Curtis Pullium, Penelope Mink, Gabe and Molly Harris, Owen McGlothlin and Amelia Moore.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Sue Taylor Hatcher. Funeral services for Fred will be 12:00 noon on Friday, December 9, 2016 at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah with Gil Arterburn and Mark Prude officiating. Burial will follow at Maplelawn Park Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Thursday, December 8, 2016 at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah.
