Posted at findagrave.com: Marie Taylor Davis, 83, died Saturday, February 27, 2010 at the Gilmore Memorial Regional Medical Center surrounded by her family. Born October 17, 1926 in Becker, she was the daughter of the late George Nelson and Josie Viola Dye Taylor. A life long resident of Monroe County she graduated from Becker High School as Valedictorian. She retired after 50 years with Amory Garment Co. and she was an active member of the Unity Baptist Church in Amory for over 30 years. She enjoyed reading,flowers, and spending time with her family and friends. Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 2, 2010 at the E.E. Pickle Funeral Home Chapel in Amory with Rev. Ronnie Sutton and Rev. H.V. Brown officiating. Burial will be in the Haughton Memorial Park. Survivors include her husband loving husband of 39 years, Pete Davis of Amory; one daughter and son-in-law, Delores and Jimmy Price of Gautier, MS; three grandchildren, Angela Marie Robinson (David), Rachel Freeman, and Rebecca Wilsey (Aaron); 7 great grandchildren, Brent, Brandon, Ashley, and Victoria Robinson, Ethan Freeman, and Landen and Ayden Wilsey; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, friends, and a wonderful, loving church family.
She was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters, Louise Lazenby, Betty Hatcher, and Mary Nell Brown; four brothers, Dick, Lewis, Ralph, and Daniel Taylor; and a very close friend Mavis Haney. Pallbearers will be Gerald Lovern, Gary Carroll, Steve Brown, Phillip Brown, Jimmy Dale Taylor, and Billy Wayne Taylor. Visitation will be 5 until 8 p.m. Monday evening and will continue until service time on Tuesday at the funeral home. Those who desire may send condolences to www.obryantokeefe.com.
