She was born to the late Oscar & Ethel Beard Ragan on October 31, 1910 in Maypearl. Jewell loved being a grandmother and spending time with her grandchildren. She was a southern cook and loved preparing meals for her family. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Waxahachie. She enjoyed playing 42 dominoes and gardening. Jewel worked at Bowlers Hardware Store, downtown Waxahachie and during WWII she helped her husband at Kirkpatrick Garage. She leaves behind numerous friends and family members that will miss her. She is survived by her grandsons, Jack Kirkpatrick and his wife, Tina of Bentonville, Ark., Jim Kirkpatrick and his wife, Marie of Frisco, Joe Kirkpatrick and his wife, Kristi of Ennis; 7 great-grandchildren; 5 nephews and 2 nieces. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Kirkpatrick, 2000; and her son, Bobby Joe Kirkpatrick,1995. Services to celebrate Jewell's life are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Thursday, January 17, 2008 at the Pat Boze Memorial Chapel of Wayne Boze Funeral Home with Dr. Shane Kinnison officiating. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery in Waxahachie. Visitation with the family will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 16, 2008 at the funeral home.
