He was a 28-year resident of Del Norte County. Visitation will be held at Wier's Mortuary Chapel on Tuesday, Nov. 25, from 2-7 p.m. Graveside services will be at the Del Norte County Veterans Cemetery on Wednesday, Nov. 26, at 10 a.m. with military honors. Del Norte Triplicate, Crescent City, California, Thursday, December 11, 2014: James L. Husong, 86, passed away Nov. 23, 2014, in Crescent City. He was a 29-year resident of Del Norte County. Jim was born in Kansas City, Mo., on Sept. 17, 1928, to Joseph and Molly Husong. He served in the Navy as a machinist's mate during the Korean War. After his honorable discharge from the Navy, he worked as a machinist in Richmond, where he retired at the age of 54. Jim and his wife Margot then traveled throughout the USA and later in 1985 settled in Crescent City. From 1986 to 1989 they worked summers in Yellowstone National Park. He is survived by his wife Margot, sons Greg and Eric, daughters Sharon and Denise and stepdaughters Marion and Ulli. A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, Dec. 14, at 2 p.m. at the Crescent City United Methodist Church. Please sign the family's online guest book at wiersmortuary.com.
