Wahoo Newspaper, Wahoo, Nebraska, Tuesday, August 24, 2010: WAHOO - Steven O. Lowther, 64, of Wahoo, died Aug. 21 at his home. Lowther was born June 13, 1946 to Max and Cheryl (Davis) Lowther in Omaha. He grew up on a farm near Weston and graduated from Valparaiso High School in 1964. He was united in marriage to Peggy Cejka of Weston April 26, 1969. Peggy passed away Jan. 23, 1980. Two children, Joel Steven and Jennifer Marie, were born to this marriage. On June 11, 1982, he married Phyllis Clayton of Wahoo. He worked for JEO, Saunders County Surveyor, and retired from the Saunders County Department of Corrections where he worked as a Corrections Officer. He faithfully served the City of Wahoo as a volunteer firefighter for 20 years. He was preceded in death by his first wife; his stepfather, Max Kliment; his grandparents, aunts and uncles. He is survived by his wife Phyllis of Wahoo; his mother, Cheryl Kliment of David City; brother and sister-in-law, Richard and Carol Lowther of Richmond, Va.; children and spouses, Corina and Dale Wilson of Ord, Barbara Markvicka of Wahoo, Tammy and Jim Nelson of Wahoo, Christine Lawrence and fiance, Galyn Rouse of Wahoo, Maxine and Jack Fisher of Malmo, Joel and Kim Lowther of Wahoo and Jennifer and John Abramo of Wahoo; 23 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 25 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Wahoo. Visitation will be Tuesday, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., at the funeral home. Casket bearers will be Phillip Nelson, Cassidy Nelson, Dyllon Nelson, Seth Wilson, Zachary Wilson and Preston Wilson. Honorary casket bearers will be Jeremy Wilson, Jarrod Wilson, Cole Fisher, Austin Abramo, Logan Rouse and Keegan Lowther. Interment will be at Bohemian National Cemetery in Brainard. Memorials may be directed to the family for future designation. Pruss-Nabity Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
