John "Jack" W. Ludwig Jr.

(Jack) Ludwig, 79, died unexpectedly Tuesday (Feb. 10, 1970) of an apparent heart attack. He married Cleo Trenary in 1915 and farmed for 30 years in the Platteville area, moving to Platteville in 1945, where he worked as a carpenter until retiring in 1956. He was a member of the United Methodist Church and the Odd Fellows. Surviving are his wife; two daughters, Mrs. Raymond Sherwin and Mrs. Vernon Blindert, both of Platteville; two sisters, Mrs. Raymond Edge, Platteville; and Mrs. Leona Keene, Rewey; 13 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in the Mergen Funeral Home, where friends may call after 2 p.m. today. Odd Fellow services will be held at 7:15 p.m.
