James Willard Williams was born 31 December 1923 at Pierson, Woodbury County, Iowa (one source states it is Pearson, but there is not a Pearson in Iowa), and died 12 April 1983 in Jacksonville, Morgan County, Illinois. He married on 23 January 1943, in Roodhouse, Greene County, Illinois, to Virginia Eileen Bilger, who was born 15 Jun 1924 in Roodhouse, Illinois, and died 7 January 1987 at Jacksonville, Illinois. James was a Spanish teacher.

Williams, 59, of 424 Caldwell, died Tuesday, April 12 at Passavant Hospital. He was born Dec. 31, 1923, in Pierson, Iowa, a son of Wilbur and Florence Kirkpatrick Williams.
He married Virginia Bilger, Jan. 24, 1943, in Roodhouse and she survives with two sons, Sgt. First Class Ronald W. Williams of Ft. Huachuca, Ariz., and Pastor Rick Williams of Waverly, three daughters, Mrs. Sheryl Werries of Jacksonville, Mrs. Shawn Lindquist, of Springfield and Marsha Williams of Jacksonville, his mother, Mrs. Florence Williams of Columbia, Mo., seven grandchildren, Sheryl, Ronnie and Nicky Williams of Arizona, Heather and Nathaniel Lindquist of Springfield, and David Karraker and Melissa Werries of Jacksonville, three brothers, Charles of Oxford, Ohio, Vincent of Dubuque, Ia., and Rev. Robert of Springfield, and a sister, Mrs. Vivian Hudson of Coralville, Iowa.
He was a retired minister and school teacher, and a member of the Roodhouse Christian Church. Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at the Gillham-Buchanan Funeral Home with burial in Diamond Grove Cemetery. Friends may call after noon Friday and the family will meet friends from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
