Arthur Leonard Ericson

Anahuac Progress, Anahuac, Texas, Thursday, May 5, 1977, Page 4, Cols. 5 & 6: Arthur Leonard Ericson, 82, of Raywood, passed away at 3:20 p.m. Friday, April 22, 1977 at San Jacinto Methodist Hospital in Baytown. He was born in Colorado County near Columbus, Texas, and had been a resident of Raywood 26 years where he was engaged in rice farming.

He was a member of the First United Methodist church, an auxiliary member of the Young Farmers of America; a director of the American rice Growers, Anahuac Division, Commissioner of the Raywood Drainage District, a Director of AG Supply, Inc., member of the Raywood Volunteer Fire Department, a former member of the Raywood Lions club, and former director of the American Gain Association and American Rice Institute.

Services were held Sunday, April 24, 1977 at 3 pm. in Sterling Funeral Chapel, Dayton, with Rev. Cal Kelley and Rev. Carl Patrick officiating. Interment was in White Cemetery in Highlands. Pallbearers were: R. C. Gatlin, Billy Yarbrough, Sidney Hill, Keith Fournoy, Mason Arceneaux and Kenneth Barrett.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Lela Ericson of Raywood, one son; Steven Leonard Ericson, Sr.; four daughters; Martha Ericson of Pasadena, Rosie Sanders of Dayton, Pam Moorhaj of Houston and Kristie Southerland of Raywood; a brother, Ernest Ericson of Channelview, 11 grandchildren, one great-grandchild, and numerous nieces and nephews.
