Alexander Kirkpatrick

Alexander Kirkpatrick was born 2 July 1812 at Ringoes, Hunterdon County, New Jersey, the son of Jacob and Mary Howell Burrows (Sutfin) Kirkpatrick, and died 22 December 1886. Alexander married in 1830 to Mary H. Johnston who was born 2 September 1811 in Philadelphia, Philadelphia County, Pennsylvania, and died 2 September 1848.
Alexander was a merchant in Bridgeton, Cumberland County, New Jersey.
The following was found in the Chester County, Pennsylvania Wills, 1713-1825:

Remarks: Nicholas Jones of Fallowfield. February 16, 1747/8. February 23, 1747/8. B. 243. To wife Mary 1/3 of moveable estate. To sons Robert and David, the plantation now in my possession, they to maintain their brother Samuel Jones, during life that he may not be a charge to the township. To son John, the part of the plantation he now possesses. To my daughter Mary Hinds, Sarah McGuinnes, Pattenes Johnston and Margaret Hanson, 1 shilling each. Executors: friends Joseph Adams and Andrew Gibson and friends Joseph Willson and William Boggs, overseers. Witnesses: James Allison, Andrew Kirkpatrick.

New York Herald-Tribune, New York, New York, December 25, 1886, Page 5: Philadelphia, Dec 24, 1886--Dr. Alexander Kirkpatrick, a son of the late Rev. Dr. Kirkpatrick, died yesterday, after a prolonged illness, at the age of seventy-five years. He was a graduate of the Hahnemann Medical College, and for many years practised medicine in Burlington, N. J., and adjacent towns. He took an active interest in all matters relating to homoeopathy, and at one time was president of one of the leading medical societies in New Jersey.
