The Enquirer-Journal, Monroe, Union Co., North Carolina: Iline Hicks Shepherd, 75, died Wednesday (May 29, 2002) in the Smith Nursing Center. Funeral is 4 p.m. today at Gordon Funeral Chapel. Born in Homer, La., on Sept. 16, 1926, she was a daughter of the late David and Luna Lee Hicks. She was retired from First Fidelity Bank in New Jersey. Survivors include her husband, Fred W. Shepherd; three sons, Bruce David Shepherd of Ringwood, N. J., Keith Williams Shepherd of Monroe and Edward C. Shepherd of West Milford, N. J. ; one daughter, Paula D. Shepherd of Bloomingdale, N. J.; four sisters, Verdie Anderson of Ruiston, La., Pauline H. Newson of Cullen, La., Annie Ruth Carroll of Sibley, La., and Betty Jo Wapler of Portland, Maine; one brother, Damon Hicks of Hughes Spring, Texas; 14 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Visitation is 3 p.m. today at the funeral home.
