Iva Mary Kirkpatrick was born 14 October 1895. On 11 October 1919 she married Russell Max Sanderson, who was born 9 August 1894 and died 27 November 1963.
There were two (2) children born of the marriage.
The Peoria Journal Star, Peoria, Illinois, June 4, 1997: Roseville -- Iva M. Sanderson, 101, of Roseville died at 8:55 p.m. Monday, June 2, 1997, at LaMoine Christian Nursing Home. Born Oct. 14, 1895, in Roseville to Willis and Cora Rayburn Kirkpatrick, she married Russell Max Sanderson on Oct. 11, 1919, in Galesburg. She [He] died Nov. 27, 1963. She also was preceded in death by an infant brother and two sisters. Surviving are one son, James Kirk of Broadview Heights, Ohio; one daughter, Eleanor Jane Smith of Norwalk, Calif.; six grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and 12 great-great-grandchildren. She was a resident of the Roseville area most of her life, except for living for 21/2 years near Stronghurst after her marriage. She attended Monmouth College and graduated from Western Illinois University with a bachelor's degree in elementary education. An elementary teacher in Warren and Knox counties for 25 years, she substituted for 10 years after retiring. She was a librarian for several years and served as a township school trustee. She was a member of the Retired Teachers' Association, Roseville Women's Club and the Roseville Senior Citizens' Friendship Club. She was a 4-H leader and a member of the Warren County Farm Bureau and Homemakers' Extension. She was a member of the Monmouth Fortnightly Club, Roseville American Legion Auxiliary, and the National and Warren County Republican women's clubs. She was a member of Roseville United Methodist Church and also taught Sunday school. Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Corman Memorial Home in Roseville. The Rev. James Oliver will officiate. Visitation will be from 7 to 8:30 tonight at the funeral home. Burial will be in Roseville Cemetery. Memorials may be made to her church or LaMoine Christian Nursing Home.
