Sacramento Bee, Sacramento, California, Monday, July 9, 1956, Page 5, Col. 1: Mrs. Inez Telfer Dies Following Lengthy Illness. Last rites for Mrs. Inez Telfer, 77, wife of Robert E. Telfer, former state assemblyman and state printer, will be conducted at 10 AM Wednesday in the Miller & Skelton Funeral Home. Burial will be in the oak Hill Cemetery in San Jose. Mrs. Telfer, who resided at 2308 X Street, died Saturday in the Sutter Hospital following an extended illness. She was born in Missouri. She was past treasurer of the Allied Arts Club and Forum Club. A member of the Rosemarie Garden Club for many years, Mrs. Telfer recently was made a life member of the organization. She also was a member of the Tuesday Club. She was well known for her work on the decorating committees of the Allied Arts Club, The Westminster Presbyterian Church, the Red Cross and other organizations. She and Telfer were married in San Jose about 50 years ago. The moved to Sacramento in 1911 after he was elected a state assemblyman. He was the state printer during Governor Hiram Johnson's administration and then had his own printing business in the city. He retired several years ago. Mrs. Telfer was the sister of Mrs. F. O. Stephenson of Oakland.
