On the 1930 U. S. Census of Lawrence, Douglas Co., Kansas, Louisa J. Newman is a widow, her daughter Mildred is living with her, she is single and a teacher in the city schools.

Newman, 2120 Massachusetts street, died in her sleep this morning at the Metsker rest home, 721 Missouri street, where she had been a patient the last week. She was the mother of Miss Mildred Newman of the home, a retired Liberty Memorial high school teacher.

Mrs. Newman, who came to Lawrence in 1902 when her daughter entered the University of Kansas, would have been 95 on February 11. She was the widow of Nelson A. Newman who died in 1894 and she was the last surviving member of the Rogerson family.

Funeral services will be held tomorrow afternoon at 1:30 o'clock at the Funk chapel with the Rev. Dale Turner of the Plymouth Congregational church in charge. Burial will be in Forest Hill cemetery, in Kansas City, Mo.

Surviving relatives include her daughter and a niece, Miss Edith Chapman of Kansas City, Mo.

Mrs. New left a request that friends omit the sending of flowers to her funeral.
