Birmingham News, Birmingham, Alabama, Monday, July 26, 2004: Stewart, George Ellen, age 95, of Forestdale, died July 25, 2004. She was a member of Crumly Chapel United Methodist Church and was a teacher in the Walker County School System. She was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel Stewart.

Survivors include her daughter, Kay Stewart Bowers (Jim); sister, Helen Robinette; grandson, Brian Bowers (Katrina); great grandchildren, Austin Bowers and Connor Lee Bowers; several nieces and nephews; and a special great niece, Kalena Kay Murib of Denver, CO.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 27, 2004, at 2 p.m. at Ridout's Roebuck Chapel with burial to follow in Forest Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 12:30 p.m. until service time at the funeral home. Special thanks to Covenant Place in Gardendale, New Beacon Hospice and caregivers Latesia Johnson, Yolanda Johnson and Cathy Carroll. Ridout's Roebuck Chapel is directing.
