Joe Keith Aycock

Posted at findagrave.com: Keith Aycock passed away at 4 a.m. on Aug. 8, 2000, in San Angelo Community Medical Center after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Service will be at 3 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 10, at First United Methodist Church under the direction of Johnson's Funeral Home with burial in Ross Cemetery at 6 p.m. in Coke County. Keith was born March 10, 1934, in Knox City and was raised in Menard. He graduated from the University of Texas in 1956. In 1967, he joined his father in Home Hardware where he was known as the friendly, helpful hardware man. After his years in the hardware business, Keith enjoyed raising Simbrah and later registered Angus cattle. He married Rita McCarley Lasswell, his wife of 29 years on Aug. 21, 1971. He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Joe Aycock & Fern Hogan Aycock. He was blessed to have a large blended family who loved him dearly. He is survived by his wife, Rita Aycock of the home; son, Mark Aycock and wife, Kathy, and children, Kaci and Kali, of Menard; daughter, Kelli Jiminez and husband, Ray, and children, Alyssa and Marissa, of Harlingen; daughter, Sharla Fitzgerald and husband, Reid, and children, Robert, Patrick and Ethan, of Fair Oaks Ranch; and son, Bryan Lasswell and wife, M'Linda, and children, Reese and Reagan, of Galveston. The grandchildren will fondly remember his love and the fun they had with ``Pop.''
