Kirkpatrick and David Hudson, 1995, page 167: He married Mary Jane ____, who died before 1905. There were two (2) children born of the marriage. [Cora M. and Walter]. Their father was George Kirkpatrick born in England in 1842 and Mary Jane Harker, born 1849 in Wisconsin. George and Mary were married at New Diggings, Lafayette Co., Wisconsin on 6 November 1867. They had a large family including Cora and Walter.

George Kirkpatrick, son of James Kirkpatrick, died at the home of his father in the village of Rewey, Tuesday evening, Aug. 23, of consumption, aged about 26. His funeral occurred on Thursday, Rev. B. E. Wheeler officiating. George was well known in Grant and Iowa counties, and was very popular, especially among horsemen, as he was a lover and fancier on speed horses. His untimely death will be sincerely regretted by all who knew him in life. His mourning parents and relatives will have the sympathy of a host of friends.
