John William Aycock, 74, a brother of Joe Aycock of Whitesboro and a retired farmer and former resident of this place, died Thursday, Sept. 3, at 2 a.m. in a Lubbock hospital after a prolonged illness. Following funeral services held at 6 p.m. Thursday at the Methodist Church at Ralls and conducted by Rev. Ed Thorp, pastor, the body was brother to Collinsville for interment Friday at 2:00 p.m. Pallbearers were J. J. Sanders, D. D. Flowers, Frank and Mike Pearson, Walter Lynch and Leonard Anstead.
He is survived by two sons, Clarence Aycock of Lubbock and Pfc. Raymond Aycock, now on duty in foreign service; three daughters, Mrs. Juanita Miller of paradise, Mrs. Edith Herring of Rall, and Mrs. Pearl Owens of New Orleans, La.; and two brothers, Joe Aycock of Whitesboro and James Robert Aycock of Longview. His wife, the former Miss Grace Elliott, died March 22, 1917.
