A native of Buckhorn she was a former resident of Harlan and a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Harlan. She was the operator of Paul McReynolds Bookkeeping Service for many years. She was preceded in death by her parents, Luther and Louetta Johnson; a sister, Hazel Simpson; and three brothers, Astor Johnson, Colliver Johnson and Frank Johnson. Survivors include a son, Michael L. Thornburg, Florida; and two nephews, Tom Simpson, Woodland Hills; and Ken Simpson, Middlesboro.
