Hampton---Funeral services for George Albert Halfhill, 73, were to be held Saturday at 2:30 p.m. at the Green funeral home with burial at Hampton. Mr. Halfhill died Wednesday night at university hospital in Iowa City after several months' illness. He was born Jan. 9, 1877, at Wood Center, and had been a resident of Hampton since 1900. He was a mechanic and for 31 years was an employe of L. W. Hobbie in the Hobbie garage and later in the Willard battery service station. He was a member of the Baptist church and a past noble grand of the I. O. O. F. He was formerly a member of the state militia and assistance chief of the Hampton volunteer fire department. He was married Oct. 12, 1904, to Angie Belle Aldrich, who died last Sept. 5. He is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Harry R. Smith of Hampton and a sister, Mrs. Anna Butler of Seattle, Wash.
