The Current Local, Van Buren, Missouri: John Seronello, 91, Van Buren Resident, Dies Nov. 2. John Michael "Pops" Seronello, son of the late Jack and Amelia (Perrazo) Seronello, was born on May 5, 1921 in San Leandro, Calif., and departed this life on Nov. 2, 2012, in the Riverways Manor Nursing Home in Van Buren. He had attained the age of ninety-one years, five months and twenty-eight days. Mr. Seronello had resided in Van Buren for the past three months and was formerly of Placerville, Calif. He was a retired mill man and carpenter retiring from S & S Building Supplies. He was of the Catholic belief and was a United States Army veteran. He was a skilled craftsman and was a member of the Elks Lodge. He enjoyed playing with his grandchildren, fishing and working. He also enjoyed country music and was a dancing fool and good at it. In 1941 he was united in marriage to Marie H. Crawford. She preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Frank and Leo and one sister, Mary. Survivors include one daughter, Claudia M. Stowe of Van Buren; two sons, John Seronello of San Francisco, Calif. and Raymond Seronello and his wife, Jackie of Seal Beach, Calif; nine [should be 8] grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; one great great great grandchild [should be none] and many other relatives and friends who mourn his passing. No services are planned at this time. McSpadden Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
