Lexington, Nebraska area newspaper Nov. 1930: Richard Roy Kirkpatrick was born in Lexington, Nebr. on October 11, 1904 and died at his home in this city on Sunday, November 23, 1930, aged 26 years, 1 month and 12 days. He spend his boyhood in Lexington and graduated from the Lexington high school in the Class of 1924. He was a member of the DeMolay and was an honorable, bright, energetic young man and a kind and loving husband and father. He united with the Presbyterian church in 1920 and remained a member of the same to the time of his passing. He was married to Miss Bertha A. Hartman of Oshkosh, Nebr., on November 25, 1926, and to this union a daughter, Doris Jean was born. He was a carpenter by trade and worked with his "Dad." Those surviving him are his wife and daughter, Doris Jean, his mother and "Dad", Mr. and Mrs. Marion Morganson, and his grandmother, Mrs. Ida Faulkiner and a host of friends.--Lexington newspaper.

From the Lexington Clipper November 24, 1930: Richard Kirkpatrick died Sunday afternoon at 4 o'clock at his home in the South Ward at the age of 26 years. He was well known to the people of Lexington having received his schooling in this city. Short funeral services will be held Tuesday at the Greenwood cemetery conducted by Rev. R. M. Orr, of the Presbyterian church. Infantile paralysis was given as the cause of his death.
