The Beacon-News, Aurora, Illinois, October 20, 2006: Flo Adkins, 95, of Somonauk, formerly of the LaForge, Missouri, died in Somonauk, Illinois, Saturday, October 7. She was born in the Harmony, Arkansas Community October 3, 1911, to John A. Adkins and Lura Porter Adkins. Surviving her is a brother, John A. Adkins, Jr., of Merced, California. Also surviving her is her sister-in-law, and loving caretaker, Doris Adkins of Somonauk, with whom Flo resided the last 20 years. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews, by whom she was loved. She was preceded in death by her parents, stepmother Deulah Adkins, and many brothers and sister, most recently Jack Adkins, of Somonauk, in 2002, Ivan Adkins, of Tennessee, in 2001 and Eula Jean Kumlien of New Madrid, MO in 1968. Visitation will be at the First Apostolic Church in Sandwich from 4:00 to 7:00 pm, Wednesday, October 11. 2006 followed by funeral services at 7:00 p.m. Services will be conducted by Reverend John William Davis. Another visitation will follow on Saturday October 14, 2006 from 11:00 am until time of service at 2:00 pm at Richards Funeral Home in New Madrid, MO.
