Lawrence Weekly Record, Lawrence, Kansas, Friday, January 15, 1892, Page 5, Col. 2: Died in St. Louis, Jan. 12, 1892, of typhoid fever, James Kirkpatrick. Mr. Kirkpatrick was a former resident of Osage Mission, Kas., and through the influence of the late Senator Plumb he obtained a lucrative position in the government printing department at Washington, D. C. He was a young man of much promise and will be greatly missed by a wide circle of friends. Mr. Kirkpatrick was engaged to Miss Stella Hutchings, of Osage Mission, niece of Hon. John Hutchings, of this city. As already noticed in The Record, Miss Hutchings and Mr. Kirkpatrick were to have been married on Dec. 28, 1891. Miss Hutchings has the sincere sympathy of a large circle of friends.
