John Joseph Carter

Yorkville Enquirer, Yorkville, South Carolina, May 29, 1879, Page 2, Col. 5: Mr. Joseph Carter, a highly-esteemed Citizen of this county, died on the 21st instant, of pneumonia, at his residence. twelve miles west of this place. Ever since the war, has managed the farming interests of Major John Wilkes. Mr. Carter was a gallant soldier of the Sixth S. C. V., during the war. He left a widow and seven children who have the sympathy of many in their bereavement.
