Henry Franklin Kolb was born 28 May 1860 in Caledonia, Lowndes County, Mississippi. On 29 November 1882 he married Susie Hawkins.

There were two children born of the marriage.

Last rites for Frank Kolb, pioneer of this city, who died Wednesday morning at the home of his son in Duncan, were conducted this afternoon at Rose Hill cemetery under the auspices of the Knights of Pythias. The body arrived here at noon today and was taken in charge by the Bettes funeral home. Prayer services were held from the First Methodist church at 2 o'clock under the direction of Rev. J. T. McClure, assisted by the Presbyterian minister at Duncan. Frank Kolb was for years connected with mercantile establishments of this city and prior to his departure from Ardmore was with the Chickasaw Furniture company owned by the late W. H. Blakemore. His son, Irby Kolb of Duncan, is the only survivor.
