MOSES KIRKPATRICK DIES IN HOSPITAL AFTER LONG ILLNESS
Moses Kirkpatrick, 63, one of Walker's best known citizens, died in a Birmingham hospital Saturday night after a lingering illness. The death of Mr. Kirkpatrick is deeply regretted by a host of friends throughout the county who were aware of his good citizenship and loyalty to his family and friends. Funeral services were held at Providence church Monday, the services being in charge of Rev. Robert Guttery, assisted by Rev. Thompson and Rev. J.A. Huggins, and burial was in the Providence cemetery. Legg in charge. Surviving are the wife, three sons, Earl, August, and Roscoe Kirkpatrick, two daughters, Mrs. Fannie Frederick, of Red Bay, and Miss Bessie Kirkpatrick. Mr. Kirkpatrick was a prospering farmer, a good citizen. He served out the unexpired term of his father-in-law, Rev. Sim Kitchens, as county treasurer, when the latter died in office about 20 years ago.
