OBITUARY ARPIN MOHLER-KIRKPATRICK
Arpin Margaret Mohler was born at Albia, Monroe County, Iowa, June 14th 1859. Died at Mankato, Kansas, June 17, 1927, aged 68 years and 3 days.
When Arpin was one year old her parents moved to Carl, Iowa and from there to near Winterset, Iowa. When she was seven years old they moved to Swan, Marion County, Iowa and later to near Pleasantville in the same state.

When she was 17, she began teaching school. After one year of teaching she attended school, Central University, a Baptist School at Pella, Iowa. After this she taught in both Iowa and Kansas, until she was married and she taught two winters after her marriage. On November 24, 1880 she was united in marriage to Milo Mack Kirkpatrick at the home of her uncle Hiram L. Balcom near Fomoso, Kansas. She was the daughter of T. K. and Asenatte (Aseneath) Mohler. She was baptized in March 1879 and united with the church at Rockdale, Kansas, but afterward became a charter member of th Christian Church at Mankato.

She is survived by her husband, six brothers, a large number of nephews and niece and a host of friends. She was very loyal to the church and was a regular attendant at all the services so long as her health permitted. In her death this church sustained a very great loss. She was a woman of splendid intellectuality. She read the best books and lived her life in a high plane. She loved to counsel with young people and her advice to them was very wholesome. "Life's race well run, Life's work well done, Life's crown well won, And now comes rest."Funeral services were conducted at the Christian church in Mankato conducted by her pastor, interment in the Mt. Hope Cemetery. An abundance of flowers enbanked the casket as it lay in wait in the church. At the cemetery the Eastern Star took charge of the burial according to their ritualistic ceremony. The pall bearers were; A. Nunnally, Joe Lebow, I. F. Higbee, Cecil Smith, S. L. Platt, T. D. Leonard. A large procession followed the remains to their last resting place.
