Cornelison, 68, of Berea, former Madison county jailer, died at 7 o'clock tonight at the Berea College hospital here where he had been admitted Monday.
An attending physician, Dr. John Baker of Berea, said death was due to a cerebral hemorrhage.
A member of the family quoted the physician as saying that throat wounds Mr. Cornelison had suffered at his home Monday morning probably were inflicted accidentally with his razor when he suffered a stroke while shaving. He had suffered two previous strokes and was partially paralyzed.
The throat wounds, though serious were healing, the physician said, and did not cause death.
Mr. Cornelison, who served as Madison county jailer from 1930 until 1933, is survived by his wife, Mrs. Julia Cornelison; three sons, D. N.Cornelison, Big Hill; Jimmy Cornelison, Berea, and Ernie Lee Cornelison, Cincinnati radio entertainer.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at the Berea Baptist church, conducted by the Rev. O. B. Mylum. Burial will be in the Berea cemetery.
