Jim attended grade and high school in Miles City, graduating in 1958. Jim was a carrier for the Miles City Star as a teenager. He worked at the family’s Fair Price Grocery Store, mostly as a butcher but also as an all-round worker. In 1969 he graduated from Barber School in Boise, Idaho. He worked as a barber in Miles City, then moved to work in Forsyth, having his own shop in the Howdy Hotel, where he resided. Jim was an avid bowler for several years. He also had a passion for photography, taking pictures wherever he was. He especially enjoyed taking photos of family and friends. He attended the Forsyth Presbyterian Church for many years.
Jim donated his time on many days off giving haircuts to the elderly in Forsyth. While in Forsyth, he traveled frequently to Miles City to visit his mother at Eagle’s Manor. Later, when he also moved into the Manor, he always “looked out for Mom”. Jim is survived by his sister Kathy (John) Beling and niece Laura (Brian) Elliott, her children Trevor and Paige all of Missoula. Also surviving is his Aunt, Idah Johnson of Forsyth and several cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents.
