Mrs. Leota Allen, 57, a resident of Centralia until last fall, died at her home at Fort Meyer, Fla., Feb. 19 after a lingering illness of five years. Born in Jefferson county April 7, 1881, she lived at Weingarten, Mo. and Oakdale, Ill., until 1918 when she moved to Centralia with her husband, J. W. Alen [Allen]. She had married Mr. Allen in 1905. He preceded her in death in 1934. She was affiliated with the Baptist Church in early life.

Survivors include two sons, J. Paul Allen of Centralia and W. Carl Allen, of Urbana; one daughter, Mrs. Aline Kruzan of Fort Meyer; one brother, Luther Kirkpatrick of Waltonville, Ill.; two sisters, Mrs. F. E. Smith of Champaign, and Mrs. J W. Wells, of Waltonville, and two grandchildren. Services will be conducted Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the Boggs Funeral home with the Rev. George Whitten officiating. Burial will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park.
