Dubuque Telegraph Herald, Dubuque, Iowa, Wednesday, August 28, 1974, Page 25: Maquoketa, Ia.---Guerdon "Shorty" Cummins, 68, of 306 N. 2nd St. died Tuesday evening at Jackson County Public Hospital here. He was receded by his first wife, the former Mae Knapp, who died in 1957, and his second wife, the former Alice Wingar.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday at the Haylock-O'Hara Funeral Home here, where friends may call after 2 p.m. Thursday. Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery.
Surviving are a son, Stanley of Maquoketa; two grandchildren; his mother, Mrs. Verna Cummins of Rockford, Ill., and three sisters, Mrs. John Beatman of Greensboro, N.C., Mrs. George Moore and Mrs. Bernard Elwell, both of Rockford, Ill.
