Loretta Celestine Knapp
(28 Oct 1920 - 2 Dec 2012)
Posted at findagrave.com: Loretta Celestine Knapp was born in the town of Lancaster, Wisconsin, and passed away very peacefully Sunday morning December 2, 2012, at 6:06. After graduating from high school, Loretta worked as a Beautician in Alpena, Michigan, where she met and married Ervin Hoppe. Ervin passed May 8, 2001, one week after their 53rd wedding anniversary.
Loretta was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. The greatest gift she gave her family was the opportunity to meet the Lord Jesus Christ as she determined that we would grow up in church.
Loretta and Ervin had 3 children; Dennis, Jan and Renee. Dennis, her oldest son, lives in DeFuniak Springs, Florida, with his wife Debra. Dennis and Debra have 2 children, Seth and Adah, who live in the Florida Panhandle. Jan, Loretta's second son, passed away at 6 years of age with leukemia. Renee, Loretta's daughter, is a nurse living in Albany, Georgia. Seth and his wife Rebecca have two children, Riley and Jackson, Loretta's 2 great-grandchildren.
Loretta will be greatly missed by family and friends.
Loretta's family would like to thank the following for their prayers and support over the past several years: Dr. James Howell and The Chautauqua Rehab and Nursing Center for the years of health care given our mom; Covenant Hospice, for your help with care in mom's final days; our church friends of Cornerstone Church, as well as Pastors Doyle and Jan Redwine, for always being there for spiritual support when needed, as well as the prayer support team that goes to the care facility every Tuesday; the Presbyterian Church where Loretta was a member, and a special thanks to Becky Mooney; to all of our friends for your thoughts and prayers; to Joel and Paula Glenn for their very courteous, prompt, professional care of mom's burial, and thanks to any other distant family and friends for your love, care and support in any way.
Graveside services: 2:00 PM, Monday, December 3, 2012, at Magnolia Cemetery with Reverend Joel Glenn officiating.
