Posted at findagrave.com: Platteville---Ruth Krog Wisdom, age 81, of Platteville, died on Tuesday, March 25, 2003, at University Hospital, Madison. She was born on Dec. 28, 1921, in Rewey, Iowa County, the daughter of Virgil E. and Sarah E. (Bellmeyer) Austin. She attended the Union School and later graduated from Platteville High School.
She was united in marriage on March 20, 1946, at the Little Brown Church, Nashua, Iowa, to Fred Krog. He preceded her in death on Sept. 10, 1974. She later married Lyle Wisdom on Jan. 2, 1982, at First English Lutheran Church, Platteville. She worked at LeMoines Shoe Store and also drove bus for 22 years for the Platteville School District, retiring in 1981. She enjoyed playing bridge and cribbage.
She is survived by her husband, Lyle Wisdom of Platteville; a daughter, Sally (Kenneth) Kalscheur of Manitowoc; a son, John (Joanie) Krog of Tomah; five grandchildren, Greg (Stephanie) Kalscheur of Landenberg, Pa., Sara (Dr. Tom) Gettelman of Reno, Nev., and Brett (Renae) Krog, Bryan (fiance, Linda) Krog and Amy Krog, all of Tomah; four great-grandchildren, Tyler and Brittney Krog, and Jake and Grant Kalscheur; six step-children, Larry (Darlene) Wisdom of East Dubuque, Ill., Regina (Tom Ohlert) Wisdom of Madison, Susan (Michael) Meyer of Ottumwa, Iowa, Randy (Donna) Wisdom of Cuba City, Mitch (Elizabeth) Wisdom of Madison, and Kim (Kim) Egan of Madison.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Leona Mueller and Margaret Austin; a half-sister, Evadna Kane; and also by her parents.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 29, 2003, at First English Lutheran Church, Platteville. Burial will be at Greenwood Cemetery, Platteville. The Rev. JoAnn Post will officiate.
