Clarence McClellan Cash

Cash Jr. returned to Beaumont Friday after having attended funeral services for his father, Dr. Clarence McClelland Cash, who died in a Harlingen Hospital at the age of 97.
Services were conducted in the First Presbyterian Church of San Benito with Masonic graveside rites. Members of the Willacy County Medical Society served as honorary pallbearers.
Dr. cash began the practice of medicine in San Benito in 1913. He was a charter member of the Rotary Club and an honorary member of both the Lions and Kiwanis Clubs. He was prominent in Masonic activities and became a 33rd degree Mason in 1949. He was a charter member of both the Alza-far Shrine Temple and the Rio Grande Valley Shrine Club.
In 1953 the State Medical Assn. named him "General Practitioner of the Year" for Texas.
