Creston News-Advertiser, Creston, Iowa, Friday, March 2, 2012: Lawrence Antisdel, 100, of Creston died Feb. 29, 2012, at his home. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, March 6, at Powers Funeral Home, junction of highways 34 and 25. The Rev. Delores Doench will officiate. Burial will be in Carl Cemetery. Open visitation will be 2 to 7 p.m. Monday with family present 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials are to be established. Online condolences may be left at www.powersfh.com.

Lawrence Antisdel, son of Clara Belle (Kirkpatrick) and Lynn Wells Antisdel, was born Nov. 6, 1911, in Adams County. On Nov. 7, 1934, Lawrence married Opal E. Johnston in Adams County. They farmed all of their married life in Adams County. He attended the Congregational United Church of Christ in Cromwell and area card clubs through the years.

Lawrence is survived by his daughter Cathryn Holker of Creston; sons, Jack (wife Colleen) Antisdel of Creston, Ray (wife Shari) Antisdel of Tipton and Bill (wife Jan) Antisdel of Ankeny; sister Bernice (husband Paul) Downing of Creston; sisters-in-law, Jackie Johnston of Davenport, Beulah Antisdel of California and Joyce (husband Jack) Bailiff of La Porte City; 18 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; 30 great-great-grandchildren; close friend Carol Scarberry; daily companion Misty the dog; several nieces and nephews. Lawrence was preceded in death by his parents; wife in 2004; granddaughter Pearl Conard; brother Lyle Antisdel; sister Bonnie Blazek; and sisters-in-law, Margie Richie and Lola Johnston.
