William Segal Ragsdale

Posted at findagrave.com: William S. Ragsdale, 87, died Saturday night, Nov. 18, at the Bartels Lutheran Home in Waverly. He was born on June 28, 1891 in Noel, Missouri, the son of James and phoebe Simmons Ragsdale. On Dec. 12, 1909 he was united in marriage to Laura E. Kirkpatrick in Noel. The couple farmed in that vicinity for 10 years before moving to a farm near Tripoli. In 1927 they moved to a farm near Waverly Junction where they remained until retiring in 1951 when they moved into Janesville.
Mrs. Ragsdale died on Feb. 9, 1972, Mr. Ragsdale became a resident of the Bartels Lutheran Home. He was a member of the Janesville United Methodist Church. Surviving are five children, Ben of New Hartford, Naomi, Mrs. Lee Mathews of Janesville, Raymond of Janesville, Ralph of Janesville, Veda, Mrs. Johnie Bohlen of Janesville; one sister, Della, Mrs. Bill Hennon of Covina, Calif.; 27 grandchildren and 30 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, one son, Jim, two daughters, Irene and Ella, two sisters, four brothers, one granddaughter and one great-grandson.
Funeral services were Tuesday, Nov. 21, 1:30 p.m. at the Janesville United Methodist Church with Rev. Warren W. Duit and Rev. Richard F. Gronewold officiating. burial was in the West Point Cemetery, rural Janesville. The Kaiser-Corson Funeral Home in Waverly was in charge of arrangements.
