The Porterville Recorder, Porteville, California, Tuesday, January 13, 2009: Norma Maurine Terry of Porterville passed into the Lord's presence on January 11, 2009 at the age of 82. She was born in Strathmore, CA, where she met and married Les Terry 61 years ago.
Visitation will be held at Myers Chapel on Wednesday, January 14th from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. A Graveside service will be held at Lindsay-Strathmore Cemetery on Thursday, January 15th at 10:30 a.m. A Memorial service will be held on Thursday, January 15th at 11:30 a.m.
Norma graduated from Fresno State University with a degree in Education and taught elementary school at Sunnyside and First Baptist Christian School.
Norma loved the Lord her entire life, attending First Baptist Church of Strathmore from the age of nine. She and Les moved to Porterville seventeen years ago and began attending Porterville Nazarene Church. Norma and Les shared their love and faith with many throughout their precious 61 years of marriage.
Norma and Les raised their 2 sons on their ranch in Strathmore. Surviving her along with Les, who resides in Porterville, CA are her sons, Dan Terry, now residing in Placerville, CA with his wife, Kathleen and Brent Terry, living in Incline Village, NV with his wife Benét.
She leaves a beautiful legacy of love and caring in her 3 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren, Robin Terry and daughter Ria of Porterville, CA; Shawna Cloward, her husband Paul and daughter Emma of San Diego, CA; Summer Poole and husband Adam and children Autumn, Allyson, Samuel, and Jacob of Lindsay, CA. She will also be missed by her sister, Dolores Peterson of Strathmore, CA and brother Byron and wife Mary of Sonora, CA.
The family requests that remembrances of Norma be made to the charitable institution of your choice.
