Dippel, 79, of Sparta, a former Pinckneyville resident, died Monday at Sparta Community Hospital after a long illness. Mr. Dippel was born in Pinckneyville, March 20, 1890, the son of Henry and Elizabeth Sorg Dippel. He married Jennie Burk in Pinckneyville, Oct. 6, 1912. She preceded him in death in 1936. * Mr. Dippel later married Virgie Collins. He was a retired coal miner. He is survived by his wife; daughters, Mrs. Robert Ethington of Sparta and Mrs. George Bechtlofft of DuQuoin; sons, Edward T. of Sparta and Billy D. of Rockford; a sister, Mrs. Emma Wilson of Pinckneyville; a brother, Fred of Pinckneyville; four grandchildren. Six brothers and sisters preceded him in death. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Pyatt Funeral Home in Pinckneyville, with the Rev. Doral Robling officiating. Burial will be in Mueller Hill Cemetery. Friends may call after 5 p.m. today at the funeral home.
