Beulah Charlene Williams
(27 Jan 1929 - 12 Jan 2016)
Posted at findagrave.com: Beulah Charlene Williams, known throughout her life as Charlene, is now in the loving hands of the ministering angels, who are at this moment preparing her for the exaltation she, we have no doubt, will inevitably receive. Those of us who love her are pleased that she is at rest, even though our hearts are broken.
She began her mortal sojourn on January 27th, 1929 in Phoenix, Arizona, the only surviving child of Charles Henry Williams and Beulah Mae Standage and ended it on January 12th, 2016 after a brief illness, fifteen days short of her 87th birthday. She was sealed to the love of her life, Lawrence Arthur Williams on May 28th, 1952, in the Mesa LDS Temple. He preceded her in death on January 18th, 2010, after more than 57 years of marriage.
Her life's passion was genealogy and family history research. Many's the summer she and her husband would spend in their RV, traveling the country on a months-long genealogical odyssey, visiting one county courthouse or one cemetery after another, looking up names and statistical information. Even later in life when she became unable to travel, she spent hours online and on the phone, continuing her research. However, this was by no means the limit of her interests. She spent many evenings dancing with her many suitors when she was young, and many hours in service as she grew older. People loved her smile and cheerful and positive outlook, and she made friends easily.
She is survived by her children, Charles Lawrence Standage Williams, Mesa, Leah Donnell (Steven) Davis, North Ogden, Utah, Betty Lou (Bruce) Williams, Mesa, Scott Herbert (Barbara) Williams, Tucson, eighteen grandchildren, and 35 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, and an infant brother, Robert Lee Williams. Services will be held on Saturday, January 23rd at the LDS Mesa Central Stake, 925 North Harris. Mesa at 10 A.M. Friends and family may call there one hour prior to services Her family would like to extend their appreciation to the nurses and doctors at Banner Desert Medical Center, whose skilled ministrations and gentle affection helped her pass her final days in comfort.
Goodbye, Mom. We love you. Although our hearts are broken, we are glad you are at rest and reunited with your true love. We miss you already, and will think of you every minute of every day till we stand in your embrace once again.
