The Arizona Republic on Oct. 24, 2008: Karkula, Richard, 87, of Chandler, AZ. Born 4-27-1921 in Mercedes, TX. One of 10 children born to John and Bessie Trevino Karkula. The family moved to Phoenix in 1928, later relocating in Ocotillo, AZ. He was a WW II Army Veteran serving in North Africa and Italy. He married Mary Lois Richards of Camp Verde, AZ in Dec. 1949. Soon after he began his 33 yr. career with Arizona Public Service in Chandler. He is survived by his sons Rick (Leah) and Ken (Barbara); granddaughters, Lindsey, Ricci, Aubrey and Alexa; his eight siblings, Melva, Helen, Eva, Ernie, Martin, Gracie, Anna and Delia. Funeral service Sat. Oct. 25, 2008 10:00 A.M. in The Chapel of Bueler Mortuary 14 W. Hulet Dr. Chandler, AZ. Interment will follow at Mt. View Memorial Gardens in Mesa.
