Born in San Diego, he worked in wholesale sales with Interstate Brands in San Diego, retiring in 1976. He moved to Monmouth in 1976 and Salem in 1990. Survivors include his wife, Judith A.; daughters, Debra McDonald, Joni Lance and Cindy Cooper, all of San Diego; sister, Janet M. Herd of Salem; brother, Donald of San Diego, five grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. Services will be held later in San Diego.
