The Modesto Bee, Modesto, California, Tuesday, January 31, 1995: Aug. 9, 1914 -- Jan. 29, 1995 Louise C. Berthold Netherton, 80, of Modesto died Sunday at English Oaks Convalescent Hospital. Mrs. Netherton was a native of Modesto. She lived in Modesto since birth. She was a member of the pioneer Berthold family that settled in Modesto in 1906. She was a homemaker and previously was a waitress in the 1940s at the Hotel Hughson and had also been employed with Leeds Shoes. She was a member of Emblem Club 140 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary 6311 of Manteca. She is survived by her daughter, Barbara Hilgardner-Howard of Modesto; and four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. A funeral will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Friday at McHenry Chapel of Franklin & Downs. Services will conclude at the chapel. Visitation will be from 3 p.m. to 5 p..m. Wednesday and 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday at the chapel. Remembrances may be made to Community Hospice, Inc., 601 McHenry Ave. Suite C, Modesto 95350 or Grace Lutheran Church, Memorial Fund, 617 W.
