The Daily Oklahoman, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Friday, May 31, 1996: Dr. Ralph Carroll, passed away May 28, 1996. He was born in Tryon, Ok. on June 27, 1920 to William F. and Edna (Kirkpatrick) Denny. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jo Ann Burrow Denny, on December 10, 1981. Dr. Denny graduated from Pawhuska High School. He served active sea duty in the U.S. Navy at the time of Pearl Harbor until honorable discharge in 1945. Following his service he attended Central State College in Edmond where he earned 'Man of the Year' honors. After graduation, he attended the OU School of Medicine where he earned his medical degree. Following internship and residency in surgery, he practiced as a proctologist and surgeon for over 30 years in Oklahoma City. During this time he also was employed as an emergency room physician at Deaconess Hospital, Baptist Hospital, and Bethany General Hospital. In addition, he served as staff physician for OPUBCO and at the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building. Ralph Carroll Denny is survived by his wife, Claudine; brothers, Manford of Denver and William of Tucson; sister, Leona Platt of Casa Grande, Az; daughters, Jeannie & husband Jim Wayne Thomas, Joan and Glenn Walker, and Joyce Denny; grandchildren, Juanita Thomas and Jarel Walker; stepson, Kirk Willman and wife Charlotte; stepdaughter, Kit and husband Steve Daggs; step grandchildren, Jennifer, Kyle and Zachary Willmann, and Peyton and Chelsea Daggs. "Doc" Denny loved fishing and golf. Following his retirement from private medical practice, he served as golf marshal at Surrey Hills Golf & Country Club. His wit and wisdom will be missed by all who knew him and listened to his many jokes. He leaves behind many dear friends. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or any charity of choice. Memorial services will be held Friday, May 31, at 4:00 p.m. in the Bill Merritt Memorial Chapel.
