Harrod Brothers Funeral Home: Bobby Carolyn Coyle Crosswhite, born September 21, 1921, passed away at home Friday, April 17, 2015. Services for Mrs. Crosswhite will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Harrod Brothers Funeral Home with Dr. Phil Hill officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Family and friends will be received at the funeral home Wednesday evening from 5-7 p.m. and Thursday from noon until the service. She was born in Berea, Kentucky, the daughter of the late Truman Franklin and Cleo Hatton Coyle. She held a Master's Degree in Music from Berea College. She began her career in Kentucky State Government in 1947 in the Governor''s Office where she served three governors, Gov. Simeon S. Willis, Gov. Earl C. Clements and Gov. Lawrence W. Wetherby through 1955 and retired from the Department of Education in 1983. She enjoyed reading, was an avid quilter and she and her husband, Glenn, travelled in every state in the U.S. Bobby was a kind, gentle, giving lady who adopted her neighbors and friends as family. Mrs. Crosswhite was a member of First United Methodist Church. She is survived by her loving husband of 69 years, Glenn Crosswhite. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, John Coyle. Special recognition is extended to the caregivers of Bobby for their wonderful, compassionate care - Dee Quire, Christine Mattingly, Jennifer Downey, and Kim Ethington. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy are suggested to Hospice of the Bluegrass, 663 Teton Trail, Frankfort, KY 40601. Arrangements are under the direction of Harrod Brothers Funeral Home.
