Born in Estill County, he was the son of the late Allen and Lena Puckett Woosley and member of the Kidville Baptist Church. He was a retired merchant and an employee of the A and B Carwash, a member of the U.C.T. Council 542, the Clark County Saddle Club, he was a Kentucky Colonel and trainer of Walking Horses. Survived by his wife, Irene Vivion Woosley; two sons, James R. and Donnie Ray Woosley, both of Winchester; two granddaughters, Angela Kay and Pamela Sue Woosley; his step-mother, Mrs. Nettie Woosley, LaGrange; four half brothers, Raymond, Daymon, Fred and Francis M. Woosley, all of LaGrange; two half sisters Mrs. Beulah Homebrook, Irvine, Ms. Della Mae Woosley LaGrange; one aunt, Mrs. Dave Crouch, North Middletown. Funeral services 2 p.m. Friday at the Scobee Funeral Home, Winchester, by Rev. Raymond Smith and Rev. Ron Stone. Burial in Clarmount Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Arthur M. Walson, Jeffery Adams, John (Edk) Rose, Glen Spivey, Larry Long, Paul Merritt. Honorary bearers: Paul Hisle, Virgil Finney, Johnny Pace, John Waller, Velmont Hall, Roy Ballard, Robert Clark, Vernon Hagan, Louis Adams, B. M. Shearer, James R. Powell, R. Foster Adams.
